Physical Description: 1 photographic print : gelatin silver ; 11 x 15 cm., on mount 18 x 23 cm. approx.
Subjects: Wagstaff, Ernest Edward, 1870-1965.
View shows five men sitting in a car in the middle of a street, with buildings behind them. A sign on one of the buildings reads "The Royal Hotel".
Notes: Inscribed in silver on mount below image: Royal Studios, Beavis Bros. H. C. Beavis, Howick St. Bathurst, N.S.W.

Paper attached to verso: (1) Daimler tonneau, with the first sleeve-valve engine, and shaft-driven live axel: at Bathurst, N.S.W., possibly in the spring, or winter, of 1909. Driver: Mr. E. E. Wagstaff.

E.E. Wagstaff collection. Ernest Edward Wagstaff (1870-1965) was born in Essex, England and came to Melbourne in 1904 to become the first General Manager of British Imperial Oil Co. Ltd. He held this position until 1927, when the company changed it's name to Shell Co. of Australia Ltd. He was a motoring enthusiast, and made trips such as a Melbourne to Sydney trip in 1901, and Melbourne to Adelaide in 1908.
