Description The gold plated giant statue of The Budha in lotus position at the Golden Temple ( Rangiri Dambulla Uyanwatta Rajmaha Vihara),Dambulla, Sri Lanka is believed to be the largest such structure in the World. The statue is 100 feet tall and 76 feet wide and was consecrated in 2001. Dambulla is also the site of the famous Cave Temples which house several exquisite murals reminiscent of Anjanta Caves in India and scores of statues of The Budha and Bodhisatwas!
