Interesting picture of a steam lorry from late 1906. So it is eithe a pre-production model or a relabeled Gardner-Serpollet.

English: Capture of this Picture taken in November 1906 indicates a Darracq-Serpollet steam lorry in service somewhere in France. As the company's premises in Suresnes were not finished before February, 1907 (probably later), the vehicle shown is not a production Darracq-Serpollet model. Possibly, it is either a prototype built by predecessor Gardner-Serpollet in Paris, or, more likely, it is a relabeled Gardner-Serpollet steam lorry. These were quite successfull, and the Darracq-Serpollet was very similar in looks and technics, so it is reasonable that Darracq-Serpollet tried this to generate interest in the new make. |
