Description
Deutsch: Das 2010/2012 runderneuerte Stadtmuseum in Rapperswil (SG) und seine Sammlung: Darstellung der Mutter Gottes mit dem Leichnam Christi auf dem Schoss, Piéta (Vesperbild) um 1500, Holz, bemalt. Das spätgotische Vesperbild befand sich bis vermutlich um 1642 im Heilig Hüsli auf der Seebrücke. 1642 wurde das Kunstwerk ins Kapuzinnerinnen-Kloster Wattwil gebracht, wie der Klosterchronik zu entnehmen ist: «Die ehrwürdige Mutter Maria Catharina ist mit einem gnadenreichen Vesperbild ... zu Rapperswil beschenkt worden ...» Leihgabe des bischöflichen Ordinats St. Gallen.
