Text Appearing Before Image:
time shestopped, and I asked her if there was anything else shewanted to say. 1 No, she said, I think I hâve said about enough. I hâve no doubt of it, said I, and walked out 01the room and towards my carriage. It dawned upon her feeble little mind that I was go-ing home without seeing her boy, and she followed. Shebegan to beg, and when she was convinced that beggingwould do no good she tried flattery, and said ail mannerof nice things. Finding this plan worked no better thanthe other, she wilted, and began again to plead for me togo back and see her boy. 1 He is not out of danger yet, she said, and Icannot think of allowing any one else to treat him. If you will agrée never toabuse me again, and always treat me in a respectful andladylike manner, I will go in and see your boy and treathim until he gets well.

Then I allowed her to mention it, not havingthe heart to deprive her of that pleasure any longer ; soI let her talk, and really enjoyed it as well as she. Butphysicians, as a rule, are elegantly treated by the betterclass of people. In looking over the world, in my mus-ings, I can see the good people everywhere showing theirappréciation of the members of the médical profession. They treat them courteously, and in m any ways showtheir respect for thèse guardians of their health. Thebetter class not only treat their own physicians cordially, but they treat them ail so. The
