English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
The American teacher Bowlby arrives at Schiphol airport with his two daughters. He's going to pay a visit to Zuizande (municipality Oostburg in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen). After the war this village was adopted by Dalton. For this reason Bowlby has been writing to the local headmaster Van de Reepe for some time. Van de Reepe picks up his colleague. Bowlby stays at Van de Reepes home in Zuidzande and is shown the whole village by him. The American girls learn how to ride a bicycle. Bowlby, Van de Reepe and the students enter the primary school.

Op Schiphol arriveert vanuit het Amerikaanse Dalton onderwijzer Bowlby met twee dochtertjes. Hij gaat op bezoek in Zuidzande (gemeente Oostburg in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen). Dit dorp werd, na de oorlog, geadopteerd door Dalton en Bowlby correspondeerde daarom al geruime tijd met bovenmeester Van de Reepe uit deze plaats. Van de Reepe haalt zijn collega af. In Zuidzande logeert Bowlby bij hem thuis en toont hem het hele dorp. De Amerikaanse meisjes proberen te leren fietsen. Bowlby en Van de Reepe gaan samen met de scholieren de lagere school binnen. |
