English: De Bows Review from 1857. This Review (Journal or Magazine) was published for around 25 years by J. D. B. De Bow.

One of the interesting articles in this issue is a comentary on the Dred Scott case (The Dred Scott Decision) that had just been handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court. The case decision stated (in part) that because Scott was black, i.e. from Africa and a slave, he was not a citizen and therefore had no right to sue.

This issue also has a short article on the economics of the Slave Trade.
