Description

Dordrecht beschikt over de nog enige in zijn soort bestaande (Rijn)stoomsleper. De sleepboot werd in 1893 gebouwd op de scheepswerf van Boele te Slikkerveer. Tot 1965 heeft de sleper onder de naam ‘Speculant’ zijn dienst bewezen op de Boven-Rijn en behoorde de sleper tot één van de laatste schepen die verdrongen werden door de opkomst van de huidige duwschepen en de toename van de eigen voortstuwing van de Rijnschepen.
