Summary edit

Description

De Young Museum — building facade, and garden with Canary Island date palms (Phoenix canariensis).

  • "I suppose you all know the basic idea -- the museum is clad in copper, the copper is "pixelated" with holes and indentations of different sizes so that over the years, as the copper gradually turns green, it will do so with a kind of leafy tree-canopy effect."
