English: Dean Burn. Dean Burn rises in Brockhill Mire near Pupers Hill on the edge of Dartmoor, and whilst it may seem only small, it can be powerful enough in spate to cut through the slates in the granite aureole of Dartmoor. Here looking down from the lane near the bridge 1128580 in Upper Dean it has carved a miniature mossy gorge that is a shady tranquil place in summer and where fallen leaves collect in winter. |
