2013 HURON WMD YOUTH WATERFOWL HUNT. Participants are first instructed how to set up a decoy spread in classroom setting on day one. Day two is setting up decoys in the field. The Huron Wetland Management District hosted its 10th annual Youth Waterfowl Hunt in September. This event provided 28 youth hunters between the ages of 12 – 15 and (new) mentored hunters (10-11), an opportunity to learn about various migratory birds and their habitats, duck and goose calling, decoys, and waterfowl hunting techniques. This event continues to be a success each year due to the dedicated volunteers within the community of Huron. Photo Credit: Chuck Pyle/USFWSMountain-Prairie Hunting and Fishing |
