Description
English: Airmen Brandon Davis (left) and Zack St. Germaine connect a cross-deck pendent arresting wire to its purchase cable as other sailors rig the emergency-landing barricade during a drill on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) on Oct. 18, 2004. In an emergency situation the barricade would be stretched across the carrier's flight deck to catch a malfunctioning aircraft and ensure the safety of the aircrew and the carrier's flight deck crew. The Truman Carrier Strike Group is conducting carrier qualifications in the eastern Atlantic Ocean.
