Description
English: U.S. Navy flight deck personnel direct an E-2C Hawkeye aircraft to the catapult for launch from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) during Exercise Valiant Shield 2007 flight operations in the Pacific Ocean on Aug.13, 2007. The joint exercise is being held in the Guam operating area and involves 30 naval vessels, more than 280 aircraft, and approximately 20,000 service members from the Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.
