Description
English: The light streak of the afterburners from an F/A-18 Hornet lights up the night as Capt. Marty Chanik, commanding officer of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65), monitors the first wave of strike aircraft launching from the flight deck in support of Operation Desert Fox on Dec. 17, 1998. The Enterprise and its embarked Carrier Air Wing 3 is operating the Persian Gulf.
