The Air Force crew is conducting a humanitarian, mid-winter air drop mission to Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station operated by the National Science Foundation. Two of the air drop bundles contain critical medical supplies needed for a 47-year-old American woman who discovered a lump in her breast. Four bundles of mail and food were also dropped. The loadmasters are from the 62nd Air Wing, McChord Air Force Base, Wash. |
