medullary fibres appear according to the findings ofGoldstein, De Buck and Deroubaix somewhat thinnedespecially in the supraradial network ; Goldstein, Agostini,Gonzales, Moriyasu, Klippel, and Lhermitte describe slightloss of fibres in the tracts and changes in the anterior horncells of the spinal medulla. By some investigators, Obregia,Klippel and Lhermitte, Doutrebente and Marchand changesin the vessels were also found, new formation of vessels,proliferation of vascular cells. As the vessels, however,as a rule, have no share in the morbid process, we have hereprobably to do with chance side-findings caused possibly byage, alcoholism or syphilis. Doutrebente and Marchand sawnumerous nerve-cells in the embryonic stage of development; MORBID ANATOMY 215 Agostini also reports some traces of arrested developmentand residua of childish diseases.
