DescriptionDengue IgM and IgG Tests-Negative.jpg |
English: Dengue IgM and IgG Tests-
Dengue IgM Test:IgM antibodies are produced by the immune system in response to a recent infection. A positive result for IgM antibodies suggests an active or recent infection with the Dengue virus. A negative result for Dengue IgM indicates that you do not have detectable levels of IgM antibodies specific to Dengue virus in your blood. This means that you are not currently experiencing a new or acute Dengue infection. Dengue IgG Test: IgG antibodies are produced by the immune system as a response to a previous infection. They indicate a past exposure to the virus and the development of immunity. A negative result for Dengue IgG indicates that you do not have detectable levels of IgG antibodies against the Dengue virus. This could mean that you have not been previously exposed to Dengue virus or that your immune response has not produced detectable levels of IgG antibodies. |
