Deutsch: Gebietsstand der Republik aufgrund des Gesetzes der provisorischen Nationalversammlung Deutschösterreichs vom 22.11.1918. Umfasst alle deutschsprachigen Gebiete und Länder der ehemaligen österreichischen Reichshälfte. Daneben ist die Grenze des heutigen Österreichs zum Vergleich angegeben. Die Länder Vorarlberg und Deutsch-Tirol bildeten ursprünglich eine gemeinschaftliche Provinz namens »Tirol-Vorarlberg«. Die Provinz wurde jedoch noch 1918 in die heutigen Gebietsteile aufgegliedert, da Vorarlberg bis 1920 gedachte, sich der Schweiz anzuschließen. Das heutige Tirol führte amtlich den Namen »Deutschtirol«, um sich von »Welsch-Tirol« (dem heutigen Trentino) abzugrenzen; »Deutschtirol« gehörte demnach natürlich auch das heutige italienische Südtirol an.
Die deutschösterreichischen Provinzen im Einzelnen: Provinz Oberösterreich: 15.162 km², 1,03 Millionen Einwohner. 1910 bekannten sich für das ehemalige Kronland Österreich ob der Enns [ohne Deutschsüdböhmen] 99,7% der Einwohner als Deutsche und 0,2% als Tschechen.
Provinz Niederösterreich: 22.048 km², 3,72 Millionen Einwohner. 1910 bekannten sich für das ehemalige Kronland Österreich unter der Enns [ohne den Deutsch-Südmährischen Kreis] 95,5% als Deutsche und 3,7% als Tschechen. 0,1% gaben ein anderes Volkstum an.
Provinz Deutschböhmen: 14.496 km², 2,23 Millionen Einwohner. 1919 bekannten sich von den Einwohnern 2,07 Millionen als Deutsche und 116.275 als Tschechen.
Provinz Sudetenland: 6.534 km², 678.880 Einwohner. 1919 bekannten sich von den Einwohnern 643.804 als Deutsche, 25.028 als Tschechen und 5.200 als Polen.
Provinz Steiermark: 22.426 km², 1,44 Millionen Einwohner. 1910 bekannten sich von den Einwohnern 70,5% als Deutsche und 29,5% als Slowenen.
Provinz Salzburg: 7.153 km², 214.997 Einwohner. 1910 bekannten sich 99,7% der Einwohner als Deutsche.
Provinz Kärnten: 10.327 km², 394.735 Einwohner. 1910 bekannten sich 78,6% als Deutsche und 21,4% als Slowenen.
Provinz Deutschtirol: 20.047 km², 1,09 Millionen Einwohner. 1910 bekannten sich in der Provinz 839.000 als Deutsche, 20.000 als Ladiner und 3.000 als Italiener.
Provinz Vorarlberg: 2.602 km², 145.794 Einwohner. 1910 bekannten sich von den Einwohnern 95% als Deutsche und 5% als Italiener.

Von Deutschösterreich formal beanspruchte Gebiete: Deutschwestungarn
Ostschlesien (gemeinschaftliche Verwaltung mit Polen und der Tschechoslowakei vorgeschlagen) English: Territory of the proposed Republic of German-Austria in the immediate aftermath of WWI, according to law of the provisional national assembly of German-Austria of 22 November 1918. This included all predominantly German-speaking areas of the Austrian half of the former Austro-Hungarian empire. The border of today's Austria is also indicated for comparison. The areas Vorarlberg and Deutschtirol originally formed a joint province named "Tirol Vorarlberg". The province was however subdivided in 1918, and in 1920 Vorarlberg considered joining Switzerland. The modern Land of Tirol bore officially the name "Deutschtirol", in order to distinguish itself from "Welsch Tirol" (today's Trentino); "Deutschtirol" therefore included the modern South Tirol in Italy.
The German-Austrian provinces in detail: Province of Upper Austria: 15.162 km², 1.03 million inhabitant. In 1910, 99.7% of the inhabitants of the former Crown Land of "Austria Beyond the Enns" identified themselves as Germans and 0.2% as Czechs.
Province of Lower Austria: 22.048 km², 3.72 million inhabitant. In 1910 95.5% of the inhabitants of the former Crown Land of "Austria Under the Enns" (without the area of German Southen Moravia) identified as Germans and 3.7% as Czechs. 0,1% indicated another nationality.
