Deutsch: Diese würdevollen klassizistischen Statuen von Johann Jakob Oechslin standen ursprünglich über den Säulen der Ostfront der Kathedrale. An ihre Stelle traten 1928 neubarocke Statuen von Alfons Magg. Heute flankieren die beiden überlebensgrossen Statuen des heiligen Desiderius und Mauritius den Eingang zur Galluskapelle.
English: These dignified classicist statues by Johann Jakob Oechslin originally stood above the columns of the east front of the cathedral. They were replaced in 1928 by neo-baroque statues by Alfons Magg. Today, the two larger-than-life statues of Desiderius and Mauritius flank the entrance to the Gallus Chapel.
Français : Ces statues néoclassiques dignes, œuvre de Johann Jakob Oechslin se trouvaient à l'origine au-dessus des colonnes du front est de la cathédrale. Elles ont été remplacées en 1928 par des statues néo-baroques d'Alfons Magg. Aujourd'hui, les deux statues de Saint Didier de Langres et de Saint Maurice, plus grandes que nature, flanquent l'entrée de la chapelle Saint-Gall.
