Description
English: Dynamics of islet-cell activities. Low-glucose condition (rβ/rα = 0.1). Activities (or phases) of α (red circle) and β cells (green circle) change with time. Each cell spontaneously alternates its phase between 0 (light color) and π (dark color), and its neighboring cells perturbs the oscillation given cellular interactions. Note that cross-sections of three-dimensional structures are displayed for clarity.
