Deutsch: Die im Zentrum dargestellte Gottesmutter Maria wird von der Heiligen Katharina und der Heiligen Barbara flankiert. Der Blick Jesu richtet sich auf Kurfürst Friedrich den Weise von Sachsen, den Stifter des Altars. Auf dem rechten Flügel ist sein Bruder, Johann der Beständigen, dargestellt. Hinter beiden stehen ihre Schutzpatrone, der Heilige Bartholomäus bei Friedrich und der Heilige Jakobus bei Johann.
