Notes
  • Significance: They are associated with the expansion of the Fleet Air Base on Ford Island in the mid-1930s. They reflect the Navy's reliance on seaplanes during this decade of aviation history. These seaplane runways received damage during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, as they were situated near the hangars and planes targeted in the raid. They are contributing properties to the Pearl Harbor National Historic Landmark.
