Notes
  • Significance: The bridge was associated with the development of the community of Garrison as an important railroad junction and division point on the Northern Pacific Railway. The bridge provided a vehicular connection between the communities of Garrison and Deer Lodge and was a component of the Yellowstone Trail, an early interstate highway that connected Minneapolis and Seattle. The bridge later became a part of U.S. Highway 10, the successor to the Yellowstone Trail. The bridge is an excellent example of the classic pin-connected Pratt through truss, a bridge type common to Montana between 1892 and 1915. The bridge is also located on the original roadway alignment, providing an example of roadway standards of the early 20th century.
