Description
Deutsch: Kaiserlich Deutsche Postagentur in Zanzibar mit ihren Bediensteten (1890). – Die ersten beiden Postagenturen in ehemals Deutsch-Ostafrika gab es in Lamu und Zanzibar. Sie wurden aufgrund des Helgoland-Zanzibar-Vertrages von 1890 wieder geschlossen, da das Territorium, auf dem sie sich befanden, in britischen Besitz überging.
English: Imperial German Postal Agency in Zanzibar with its staff (1890). The first two postal agencies in former German East Africa were in Lamu and Zanzibar. They were closed again after the Helgoland-Zanzibar Treaty of 1890, in which the territory in which they were located became British.
