Deutsch: Vorderseite: + MONETA REGIS OTTONIS IN LEGT. Auf Mauerbogen sitzender Bischof mit Mitra, links Krummstab, rechts Zepter, außen zwei Türme.

Kommentar: Das Münzbild entspricht ganz einem Gepräge Bischof Hartberts von Hildesheim (1199-1216). Die Umschrift nennt aber sehr klar König Otto IV. Das folgende 'IN LEGT' ist durch E. Mertens als das bei Goslar gelegene Schloss Lichtenberg als Münzstätte dieses nur in zwei Exemplaren aus dem Fund von Nordhausen bekannten Brakteaten gedeutet worden. Schloss Lichtenberg war während des Thronstreits zwischen Otto IV. und seinem Kontrahenten Philipp von Schwaben umkämpft und erst nach der Ermordung Philipps 1208 dauerhaft im Besitz Ottos IV. Die Münze dürfte also erst nach 1208 entstanden sein. Unklar ist, warum Otto das geistliche Münzbild Bischof Hartberts von Hildesheim verwendete.
