A square brownstone building with a hipped metal roof has an arched door and arched window on one side.

Devils Island Light Station landscape. The Tramway Engine Building is about one-quarter mile south of the light tower. It house the engine that was used to power the tramway, which moved supplies from the east landing area to the light station complex. Later, it may have been used for coal storage.
