Deutsch: Die Barrikade auf dem Michaelerplatz in der Nacht vom 26. Auf der 27. Mai 1848 – Anton Ziegler, 1848 Als am 25 Mai die Auflösung der Akademischen Legion als selbständiger Bestandteil der Nationalgarde verfügt und ihre Vereinigung mit jener angeordnet wurde, zogen am nächsten Tag in großen Massen Studenten, Nationalgarde und Arbeiter in die Stadt und erzwangen gewaltsamen Einlass bei den mit Militär besetzten Stadttoren. Sie vereinigten sich mit der Akademischen Legion und errichteten über 160 Barrikaden in der Inneren Stadt. Unter dem Eindruck dieser Kampfmaßnahmen wurde der uflösungsbeschluss zurückgenommen
Français : La barricade sur la Michaelerplatz dans la nuit du 26 au 27 mai 1848 – Anton Ziegler, 1848 Lorsque fut ordonnée le 25 mai la dissolution de la Légion universitaire comme faisant partie intégrante de la Garde nationale, des étudiants, la Garde nationale et des ouvriers affluèrent en masse le lendemain dans la ville pour forcer avec violence l'entrée par les portes de la ville occupées par les soldats. Ils se joignirent à la Légion universitaire et érigèrent plus de 160 barricades dans la ville. Sous la pression de ces mesures de lutte, la décision de dissoudre la Légion est retirée.
