Nato a Riva Valdobbia in Valsesia il 26 ottobre 1920, come molti altri suoi coetanei, aveva combattuto in Jugoslavia. All'armistizio era nella caserma degli Alpini di Aosta e, insieme con molti altri Varallesi, tornò a piedi in Valsesia dove aveva cominciato a costituirsi il primo nucleo della Resistenza. Nell'autunno 1943 partecipò ad operazioni di recupero armi, poi all'Alpe Sacchi confluì nella banda di Cino Moscatelli. Primo Comandante della Divisione Garibaldi "F.lli Varalli", gia comandante del battaglione "Camasco". Trasferito da Moscatelli in Ossola, militò nella II divisione 'Redi' con il grado di comandante della 83^ Brigata 'Comoli' prima e della 119/a Brigata 'Gastaldi' poi che gli valse la medaglia di bronzo al valor militare. Born in Riva Valdobbia in Valsesia October 26, 1920, like many of his peers, had fought in Yugoslavia. Armistice was in the barracks of the Alpini Aosta and, along with many other Varallesi, returned on foot in Valsesia, where he had begun to form the nucleus of the Resistance. In autumn 1943 he participated in recovery operations weapons, then flowed in the band Alpe Sacchi Cino Moscatelli. First Division Commander Garibaldi "F.lli Varalli, former commander of the battalion" Camasco.
