English: Copper alloy and red enamel


Belt Mount. Cast Disc-Attachment fragment. A circular plate surmounted by the stub of a tapered suspension loop or clip. The plate bears a central inscribed ring and dot retaining a central spot of red enamel which shows through on the back, indicating the drilling of the dot penetrated the object; crudely incised angular lines border or decorate the stub of the clip. Suggested date: Late Roman, 350-400.


Diameter (plate): 18.5mm, Length: 24.8mm, Thickness (plate): 1.9mm, Weight: 5.28gms.
