| Description |
English: Dismantled railway 6. Looking south-east, the line of trees on the right of this field marks the edge of the embankment of the former Great Central Railway, which when it opened in 1899 was the last main line double track railway to be built, see 951569.
Behind the camera, the railway crossed what was then the Oxford to Bletchley railway line, and about 1km ahead was Calvert station. This section of the line was closed in 1966. |
