English: This is a map depicting the disputed areas between Venezuela-Guyana, Guyana-Suriname and Suriname-French Guiana. The main focus is on the disputed areas of Suriname where the Tigri area is disputed with Guyana. This dispute is over the source of the Corantijn (Corentyne) River. Guyana Misrepresents the names of these rivers by calling the Coeroeni river the Corentyne and the Upper Corentyne the New River. The name New river is not found on maps of Suriname, there it is called the Boven-Corantijn (̈Upper-Corentyne). The dispute between French Guiana and Suriname is over the source of the Lawa River. France (French Guiana) sees it as the LItani, while Suriname (former Dutch Colony) sees it as the Marowini river (Melani in french). This part of the border between France - Suriname was never settled, but labeled an various sources as French territory but claimed by Suriname, while it is being disputed by Both sides, not one way. the same is true for the Tigri Area with Guyana.
