Summary edit

Description
English: Disused railway line near Knapps Hook Farm This disused and overgrown single track railway line was once the Great Central Railway, which when it opened in 1899 was the last main line twin track railway to be built. This section of the line was constructed to provide an alternative route to the London terminus at Marylebone via High Wycombe instead of sharing the line with the Metropolitan Railway via Aylesbury. The track continues as far as the A41 and the site of the former Akeman Street station 2km to the south. Until the mid 90s a weekly freight train used this line to serve a fertiliser depot just north of the A41. Further south the track was dismantled in the late 1960s.
