| Description |
English: Built in 2001-2003, this Neotraditional Collegiate Gothic Revival-style building was designed by Collins Gordon Bostwick Architects to serve as a science center for John Carroll University, replacing a series of older science buildings that dated to the 1930s and 1960s. The building is clad in red brick with gabled roofs, limestone trim, loggias and arcades with gothic arched openings, wall dormers, and crenellated parapets. The building mimics the older buildings on campus in outward appearance, but features modern facilities inside, and stands prominently at the entrance to campus, though the low central wing defers to the important historic sightlines between Fairmount Circle and the Grasselli Tower of the Administration Building. |
