Description
English: Dorothy Stimson Bullitt was born in Seattle. In 1949 she bought KING-TV, an NBC affiliate, becoming the first woman in the United States to own and manage a television station. She also owned KING-FM, a classical music radio station. She was well known for her dedication to public service and charity and active in Seattle's business community. She also served on the Board of Regents of the University of Washington.
