English: Down the Erewash Valley line The old Midland Railway route along the Erewash Valley, built principally to carry coal from the Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire coalfields. The widened gap between the tracks at the distant bridge indicates the location of Ilkeston Junction station, from which a short branch ran up into the centre of the town. |
