Summary edit

Description Until 1987, Chüebodengletscher extended to the top of this Alpine ridge, which forms part of the divide line between Rhone waters draining to Lake Geneva, and Ticino waters draining to the Po Plain. In the last thirty years, the glacier surface lowered by almost a hundred metres, newly exposing bright polished rocks to the harshness of mountain weather, while a glacial lake formed at the bottom of the cirque.
