Foi apresentado hoje, na Sé do Funchal, o livro «A Sé do Funchal- 1514/2014», cerimónia que contou com as presenças do presidente do Governo Regional da Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, do Bispo do Funchal, Dom António Carrilho, e do Representante da República da Madeira, Irineu Barreto.
A obra publicada é da autoria de Rui Carita sendo que a apresentação esteve a cargo de Ana Cristina Andrade, investigadora e profunda conhecedora da história da Igreja madeirense. A obra literária relata com textos e fotos os momentos mais marcantes dos 500 anos da diocese da capital madeirense.
Para o Bispo do Funchal, D. António Carrilho, o livro «é um documento que fica para história da Madeira pois conta com rigor e precisão os 500 anos da diocese». «Está aqui um excelente trabalho de investigação que orgulha todos os madeirenses. É uma obra que deve ser lida com toda a atenção pois é uma fonte de inspiração», vincou António Carrilho que ainda na véspera tinha celebrado os 50 anos de sacerdócio.
Importante para Madeira
O presidente do Governo Regional da Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, também se mostrou em tom elogioso à obra publicada. «É um livro de grande importância para a história da Madeira e da Sé do Funchal. Está de parabéns quem fez esta extraordinária obra. Quem a ler certamente que vai ficar mais enriquecido.»
