His face is clean shaven and his head is bald with long white hair over his ears. He is wearing a high-collared dark suit. The drawing is signed and labelled "Miguel Hidalgo". He was a father in the Roman Catholic Church and Mexico's first president. Part of an eagle with a snake in its mouth is visible at bottom. Photoprint reads: "Hidalgo y Costilla, Miguel".
