Muscari, Grape Hyacinth MllSCari (Grape Hyacinths) One of the prettiest of early spring flower- ing bulbs, growing about 6 inches high, and throwing up numerous spikes of flowers, which resemble a miniature inverted bunch of grapes. They are perfectly hardy, and for this reason they are largely used for naturalizing, especially amongst the. grass and in woods or other shady places, also in the Rock Garden. Armenia.cum. Effective long stemmed Grape Hyacinth of deep cobalt blue, en- livened by white lacing at the aperture of the bells. Wonderfully fragrant. Very large flowers and blooms later than Heav- enly Blue. 50 cts. per doz.; $3.50 per 100; $30.00 per 1000. White Grape Hyacinths (Pearls of Spain). Pure white. 60 cts. per doz.; $4.00 per 100; $35.00 per 1000. Heavenly Blue Grape Hyacinths. A strong growing variety producing much larger spikes of flowers than the ordinary Blue Grape Hyacinth. Color clear light blue; very showy. 45 cts. per doz.; $3.00 per 100; $25.00 per 1000. Spring-flowering Bulbs Suitable for the Rock Garden Anemone See page 15 Chionodoxa Crocus Eranthus Fritillaria Iris, Dutch Iris, Spanish Jonquil Leucojum Muscari Ranunculus : Scilla Snowdrops Tulip Species Ranunculus These beautiful flowering bulbs delight in a cool, moist atmosphere, and will repay extra care in cultivation. The curious tooth-like bulb may be kept out of the ground without injury for a long time, and if planted in spring in a cool, shady situation will generally give satisfactory results. They are also desirable for pot culture and for grow- ing in frames in spring. Also suitable for rockeries in a mild climate. Giant Florentine. Very similar to the French Hybrids, containing all the brilliant colors for which this strain is famous, but more desirable because of its very large flowers. 60 cts. per doz.; $4.00 per 100; $35.00 per 1000. Tecolete Strain. This magnificent strain is the result of years of very careful work by a California grower to make up this wonderful double and semi-double mixture in a very wide range of colors. 75 cts. per doz.; $5.00 per 100; $40.00 per 1000. Scillas (Squiiis) (Excellent for Rock Gardens) Sibirica. One of the prettiest of early spring-blooming bulbs, of dwarf habit, with sprays of exquisite rich blue flowers. Grown in masses, in conjunction with Crocus, particularly the yellow variety, Chionodoxas and Snowdrops, the effect is charming. Mammoth bulbs, 70 cts. per doz.; $4.50 per 100; $35.00 per 1000. Campanulata (Spanish Blue-bell, or Wood Hyacinth). A beautiful spring-flowering bulb; spikes of bell-shaped flowers, fine for naturalizing in the woods, etc.; perfectly hardy and requires no further care when once planted. This is one of the few things that will thrive under pine trees. We offer them in separate colors and in mixture as under. Doz. Blue $0 50 100 $3 50 4 50 3 50 3 50 1000 $30 00 35 00 30 00 30 00 Snowdrops (Galanthus) Single. The first of all flowers to herald the approach of spring. In conjunction with Chionodoxas and Scilla Sibirica a matchless effect can be produced in the border, or the rock garden. 50 cts. per doz.; $3.50 per 100; $30.00 per 1000.
