Образок и крест (тельник), приписываемый Дмитрию Самозванцу

На эстампе под № 22 изображены в натуральную величину: 1) древние складни; 2) тельной золотой крест, или тельник; 3) двуглавый орел на золотой бляхе, богато украшенной финифтью. Все сии драгоценности хранятся у графа Мусина-Пушкина и, по преданию, принадлежали Дмитрию Самозванцу.

На складнях, оправленных в золото с прекрасной финифтью, изображены искусной кистью в византийском стиле: Богоматерь с Предвечным Младенцем и Святитель Николай, не в саккосе (как написан он на древней иконе в Баре), но в кресчатой фелони и омофоре, одной рукой благословляющий, а другой держащий Евангелие. Створчатые складни с ушками, по-видимому, назначены были для ношения на персях.

На четверочастном тельнике изображен восьмичастный крест без распятого на нем Спасителя и без гривны, или цаты, какая видна на средокрестии у подобных крестов XVII в. Над крестом написано: Царь Славы, у концов его: Icс. Хр. Ника, у подножия: М. Л. Р. Б., т.е. «место лобное — рай бысть». Как на лицевой, так и на обратной стороне вырезаны мелкой вязью слова, вероятно, молитвы. Если действительно этот крест принадлежал Лжедмитрию, то можно бы его признать за тот самый, который он показал в Брагине Адаму Вишневецкому, как будто данный ему крестным его отцом Иваном Мстиславским.

Что же касается до бляхи с двуглавым орлом, увенчанным тремя коронами, без ездеца, или всадника, на груди, вероятно, она составляла украшение царской утвари.
