Description
English: Dried-up peat bog. The Cheviot Hills are normally very wet underfoot. This year (summer 2006) the peat has dried out completely. The pieces of wood shown in the foreground of the photo, which have been placed there to act as stepping stones in wetter conditions, are unnecessary meantime.
