English: Driving range adjacent to the Twenty Ten Golf Course, Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, Wales.
Beside each metal frame, pyramids of golf balls lie ready for the next practisers. The white numbers on the black backgrounds show distance from the start point. The most distant one is 250 yards away, near the pylon. This distance is fine for most golfers, but not long enough for the world's best, some of whom will be practising before and during the 2010 Ryder Cup, to be held at the adjacent Twenty Ten course (October 1-3). So a new, longer driving range will be available on the other side of the River Usk. The Twenty Ten bridge https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1775708 in the distance has been built to connect with the new facility. |
