Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og hans gønger, der er forklædt som svenske soldater, er kommet til Gjorslev Slot for at befri Ib Abelsøn, der holdes fanget på tårnets tag. De spiser aftensmad med de rigtige soldater, men mens Svend Poulsen og den svenske kaptajn Esner er væk høres et skrig. En af gøngerne foreslår drillende, at det er kaptajn Esner der skriger, fordi Svend Poulsen er på slottet. Men en soldat hævder, at kaptajn Esner ville æde Svend Poulsen, og at de ville gøre det samme med hans folk. Så går gøngerne til angreb, men soldaterne kæmper imod. Den svenske fændrik borer sin sabel i den drillende gønge men bliver selv såret af et pistolskud. Imens kommer den befriede Ib Abelsøn til med våben og opmuntring.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and his gønger who are disguised as Swedish soldier has come to the Gjorslev Castle to free Ib Abelsøn who are held captured on the roof of the tower. They eats supper with the real soldiers but while Svend Poulsen and the Swedish captain Esner is gone a scream is heard. On of the gøngers teases that it may captain Esner screaming because Svend Poulsen is at the castle. But a soldier claims that captain Esner would eat Svend Poulsen and that they would so with his people. Then the gønger attacks but the soldiers fights back. The Swedish fähnrich plungs his sword into the teasing gønge but is injured by a pistol shoot himself. Meanwhile the freed Ib Abelsøn joins the battle with weapons and encouragement.
