Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Enken Mette Gyde og den onde Kulsoen sidder ved bålet i et lille hus. Mette Gyde bemærker at Kulsoen ikke burde lægge så meget tørv på bålet, for brænde er dyrt den vinter. Men Kulsoen ler og peger på, at de snart vil blive rige. Den svage Inger har en kiste med sølvtøj gemt i huset, som de kan få fat på, når hun dør. Men de to ved ikke, at Kulsoens mand Tam har advaret Ingers kæreste Ib Abelsøn.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. The widow Mette Gyde and the evil Kulsoen sits at the fireplace in a small house. Mette Gyde remarks that Kulsoen shouldn't put so much peats on the fire because firewood are expensive during that winter. But Kulsoen laughs and point out that they are soon going to be rich. The weak Inger has a box with silverware hidden in the house which they can get theirs hands on when she dies. But the two of them doesn't know that the husband of Kulsoen, Tam, has warned the boyfriend of Inger, Ib Abelsøn.
