Drosophila melanogaster mites Getting rid of mites is like stopping smoking. Difficult to do, but it's your own fault that you need to. This video shows a bottle containing mites. The bright, reasonably spherical objects around the fly pupae at the start are mite eggs, and most of the video is spent following a medium sized mite. This bottle is not severaly infested, as eggs are only visible around some pupae, and there are not many adults. However, left unchecked, the population of mites could literally explode within a couple of days. |
