Description
English: The Doñana National Park is an important biodiversity hotspot in Andalucía, Spain. It has great ecological value due to the presence of numerous permanent lagoons that allow the survival of the many species that inhabit the area. As evidenced by recent images acquired by the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites, the Santa Olalla lagoon, the last permanent lagoon in Doñana, has dried up due to the ongoing drought, severely affecting the livelihood of the fauna that inhabits the area. Every day, the Copernicus Sentinel missions provide terabytes of open data, useful for studying the state of nature worldwide.
