Summary edit

Description
English: Dryhope Tower The shell of a four-storey tower house associated with the Scotts of Dryhope and the home of Mary Scott, the flower of Yarrow. It was probably built in the middle of the 16th century but was partially dismantled in 1592 by the order of James VI. The tower once had a courtyard with ancillary buildings within a barmkin wall. It was restored with public access to a roof platform in 2003 with help from the heritage lottery fund. Over 3m of soil along with young trees and vegetation were removed from the top of the tower during the restoration work.
