Summary edit

Description
English: Duchess Bridge This bridge was built in 1864 with the coming of the railway to the area, to provide a more direct link from the town. Previously the lowest crossing point of the River Aln was at Lesbury, making Alnmouth a very isolated location. The bridge was largely paid for by Eleanor, 4th Duchess of Northumberland.
