DescriptionDunlewy Old Church - geograph.org.uk - 901290.jpg |
English: Dunlewy Old Church Note the Google maps here are useless. Please refer to OSI Discovery Series Sheet 1 from which all accurate grid references have been made. Ruined church standing under Errigal Mountain in Co. Donegal. The walls are still complete and the white marble of which it was built was quarried just a few hundred yards away. The adjacent graveyard contains a single gravestone. Few will venture near the old church for it is said to be haunted. Sadly the weather conditions were not great when I visited - see http://images.google.co.uk/images?um=1&hl=en&safe=active&q=dunlewy+church for various other images. |
