Description Lot 11635-4: Allied Air Raids on Europe, WWII.German industrial city of Dusseldorf, Germany, after one week of heavy Royal Air Force raid of June 11, 1943. Some fires were still smoldering in the heart of the city and about 1,500 acres were seen to be devastated by high explosives. These areas are the white patches on the photograph.
